Felix Aublet
(1903 -1978)

Painter, architect and decorator, Felix Aublet graduated from Atelier Cormon in 1925. Fascinated by modern movement, he followed Le Corbusier’s teachings and participated in the first UAM exhibition (Union des Artistes Modernes) in 1930. Wishing to contribute towards a new living environment, Aublet advocated for arts without boundaries, involving architecture, design, painting, posters… In 1935, he founded the “Art & Lumière” association with Robert and Sonia Delaunay, which will be chosen to realize two pavilions for the International Exhibition of Art & Technic in 1937. His most famous design “the ball lamp”, created in 1931, gives a light on the relevance of Aublet’s work in France in the 1930s.
