(1910 – 2008)
Self-taught and multidisciplinary artist, Guidette Carbonell followed an artistic apprenticeship in Paris but very quickly turned to ceramic. Her Catalane and Armenian origins influenced her sculpture towards folk style. In 1928, she exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs (SAD) where her work is immediately noticed by the press. Thanks to her dream-like world and fantastic bestiary, she collaborated for more than twenty years with Jacques Adnet, director of the Compagnie des Arts Français.
